Downtime cover under a truck insurance policy can address lost income while an insured vehicle is off the road for repairs after an accident.
Laid-up cover protects a vehicle while it is not in use for a period and is often unregistered. It does not cover lost income while the vehicle is laid up.

For an insured truck being repaired after an accident, we can review accident-related downtime cover for eligible lost income during the repair period.
For a truck taken out of use, we can review separate laid-up vehicle cover. Laid-up cover protects the truck itself and provides no income benefit. Neither cover should be treated as breakdown income insurance.
